Today we bring to you our first interview with a prominent Blu-ray SteelBook collector “Morphine” who owns over 100 Blu-ray Steels. Unfortunately Morphine is in the process of moving so we didnt have a chance of getting a picture of his steels since they are packed up. The photo used belongs to us.

1. What made you start collecting Blu-ray steelbooks?
I love to collect rare things, OCD side

2. What makes them so appealing?
Rare, different and beautiful casing

3. How many do you own?
More than 100

4. Which one was your first one?
Pan`s Labyrinth

5. Which one cost you the most?
Hmm cant remember, I know it was $70 and it was an european import

6. Which one is your favorite?
John Rambo

7. Is there any that you haven’t been able to acquire?
I have all that I want

8. What bothers you more, a sticker book or dvd size casing? If this bothers you at all …
DVD size casing

9. Do you collect anything else besides Blu-ray Steelbooks?
Games

10. What are the top 3 holy grails to obtain in regards to blu-ray steelbooks in your opinion?
John Rambo (first uncut release)
I am Legend (Canada)
Iron man (Canada)

11. Have any rules for yourself as to which you seek out to buy?
I buy pretty much anything

12. Do you collect any other Blu-ray editions to the same magnitude?

Digibooks and Criterions

13. What movie would you like to see get the steelbook treatment?
Shawshank Redemption

14. Which country releases the best steelbooks in your opinion?
Tough answer, Ill have to go with Canada, Germany releases the most but more quality in design in the Canadians

15. Anything you don’t like about the steelbooks?
Not freely available in US

16. What’s worse a tiny scratch or tiny dent?
Dent

17. Where do you live? Is it difficult to get certain releases?
NY, have friends in major cities

18. What’s the worst experience you’ve had collecting steelbooks?

So far none, out of the hundred I have only 1 dent and Amazon replaced it for me

19. What’s the best experience you’ve had collecting steelbooks?

Been one of the first that started collecting and getting Rambo original release for like $35 😛

    It's steel and it looks GREAT! The artwork pops!

    Mine was The Ironman Blu-Ray one… Over $150.00

    Twilight & New Moon & Ironman

    YES! To many I still want! Still looking for The Ironman Blu-Ray SteelBook for my brother! Willing to trade if someone has a trade!

    8. What bothers you more, a sticker book or dvd size casing? If this bothers you at all?

    DVD size casing but I really don't mind the BIG ones either!

    9. Do you collect anything else besides Blu-ray Steelbooks?

    A lot on movies… Special editions!

    Twilight (Canada)

    Kill Bill 2 (French)

    Iron Man (Canada)

    GREAT movie helps! Cool artwork on the SteelBook!

    All Regions… Does NOT matter!

    13. What movie would you like to see get the steelbook treatment?

    She's the One (Edward Burns film) Avatar but I know this one will get one everywhere!

    14. Which country releases the best steelbooks in your opinion?

    Canada! The very best! The French is cool too!

    15. Anything you don’t like about the steelbooks?

    Not available in US! Needs more releases!

    Dent for sure!

    17. Where do you live? Is it difficult to get certain releases?

    Illinois… Yes but I try! That is why you need good friends…

    18. What’s the worst experience you’ve had collecting steelbooks? I got Robocop in the mail and it was all dented up but still looked cool! I do like a flawless SteelBook though…

    19. What’s the best experience you’ve had collecting steelbooks?

    Knowing a friend in Canada to help me get Futureshop SteelBooks!

    Just keep up the GREAT work! I love this site so much!
