Here is another release of the Captain America in a triple play including the 2-D blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy. It has a release date of February 3rd, 2012. The art is very similar to the other releases around the world. It’s currently available for preorder below.

Super 8 blu ray steelbook announced for Italy

Another country is releasing “Super8″, this time it’s Italy as a triple play. It includes the blu-ray disc, DVD, and digital copy. Also, It’s listed as a pre-order on DVD-store.it with no pricing or release date as of yet. We’ll post more info as it comes along and follow the forum for other info.

The Smurfs Blu-ray Steelbook

The Smurfs Blu-ray Steelbook is currently announced for release in 3 countries: Canada, Italy, and Germany. I will run through a breakdown of where to purchase this Steelbook and how much it would retail for across each of these regions. Right now all three versions appear to feature the same artwork (will need to be 100% verified upon release) and is G2 sized. The only difference seems to be in the mini cardboard overlay on the front cover to display the title (should cover the back too), which is in each country’s respective languages. In terms of which version is more limited, the Italian version will be numbered to an edition of 1500, so if pure collectibility is your goal then that version may be the one for you to get.

The Canadian release will be through Future Shop and will retail for $22.99 on December 2, 2011 when it first releases (prices are usually cheaper at Future Shop during the first week of release). The Steelbook is currently sold out online but you can still pick it up in stores on release day. It is likely that the Steelbook will come back in stock online in the near future.

The Italian release will be through DVD-store.it and will retail for € 23,50. It is coming out on January 4, 2012. As earlier said, this will be a numbered edition out of 1500. Below is the Italian version with the Italian title overlay along with the printed number template (most likely a sticker).

The German release will be through Mediamarkt and perhaps the Saturn retailer as well and will go on sale on December 8, 2011. The price has yet to been confirmed at the moment. Below is an advertisement for the upcoming German release (courtesy of ghostrecon75).

Two More Apocalypse Now Steelbooks in the Horizon

Following the steps of Spain (see here), Netherlands and Italy will also have Steelbooks of Fancis Coppola highly accalimed Apocalypse Now. Italy is set to have this title being released on June 8 (tentative date) and Netherlands will have it on June 30. There are various stores to order from for each country so check out the info below. The artwork appears to be identical with only very minor differences.

With the new launch of the Italian Amazon comes more opportunity to get steelbooks with great customer service. Well, that is if Italy Customer Service ranks up there with other foreign Amazon sites. Don’t get too excited just yet as no clue if they will be pushing out the familiar Italian steels. However, they do happen to have many German Steels on their site and one Italian. So that does seem to be a good sign for the future.

The District 9 German steel is 11.22 Euros Here – District 9 German Steelbook and Gladiator/Robin Hood is coming in at 29.99 Euros. Not a bad price for both movies, and its available to be ordered from amazon! Here – Robin Hood/Gladiator Blu-ray SteelBook

On the German site District 9 is 23.99 so the price difference is huge. Whether it ships from Germany or Italy is yet to be known.

On October 13th, Italy is bringing us another SteelBook worthy of importing. Not too long ago they released their version of The Hurt Locker which looks fantastic, and now they have a 2 pack combo with Robin Hood and Gladiator getting steel treatment. The title is currently showing a price tag of 25.90 euros which in translation to US currency is close to $35.

However, group buys can be formed in the Blu-ray SteelBook Section of the forums to save on Shipping as its mostly 20 euros to the USA for shipping. Whether you buy 1 or 4.

Michael Jackson’s This Is It Italian Steelbook

Blockbuster in Italy will be releasing Michael Jackson’s This Is It in Steelbook form on February 23rd. According to their ad, with your pre-order you will receive 2 music CDs (Bad and Dangerous). Check below for the picture of the release, which is similar to every other This Is It title.
