Inception Blu-Ray Steelbook Amazon.jp Exclusive Japan

A beautiful new SteelBook of Inception is being released by Amazon Japan. It features some very nice inside art as well as the cover and back art. The release date is set for December 21st, 2011 with a price of ¥2,682 or $34.64 US.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader sails into a steelbook edition

Japan will be getting a Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader Blu-ray Steelbook in July. The steelbook is limited to 5,000 copies in Japan, but it is not a retailer exclusive.

Initial pack shots appear to confirm that this is another stellar release, with artwork on the inside of the steelbook and a relatively logo free front.

Currently, it is available to preorder from both amazon.co.jp (¥3,625) and hmv.co.jp (¥3,942), for approximately $46 – $48 USD before shipping. There is no listing at the moment on Yes Asia.

The first ever Narnia steelbook worldwide will brave the rough seas of international shipping to arrive into steelbook collections worldwide with a release date of July 8, 2011.

As usual the Japanese Blu-ray Steelbook market keeps luring the collectors with very limited releases. This time Unstoppable will get a Steelbook treatment in the Land of the Rising Sun via Amazon.co.jp and hmv.co.jp for approximately ? 3,692 (Amazon) and ¥3,942 (HMV), roughly $46 USD. Not entirely a surprise seeing how popular the series of films have been to date. There are two more editions that have surfaced in the past week, a Japanese version that closely resembles the UK artwork but no blue banner or rating logo and a Mexican version that currently is showing on the site with a generic artwork. The Japanese version can be found on Amazon.co.jp with a cost of ? 5,337 (about $65.16 USD). The Mexican version can be found here for $376 Pesos (about $30.39 USD). More Inception Steelbooks Coming

In order to avoid making all sorts of Inception Steelbook news I opted to wait to see how many would pop up so I can keep everything related in one or two posts. Now, I see there are more Steelbooks with good and bad news, depending on how you look at it. So let’s begin, we know there’s one Inception Steelbook coming out in Mexico and another in Germany with the latter also receiving a briefcase special edition just like the U.K. version (sans the Steelbook). Now, there’s a French Steelbook appearing with a single version release and a rumored briefcase release, however, there’s bad news, the Steelbook appears to be a DVD size and that explains why the briefcase looks bigger than that of the U.K.. Both versions are scheduled to be released on December 3. Moving on, Japan has also announced a Blu-ray Steelbook which looks identical to the one being prepared in Mexico, the price is ? 4,784 and December 7, 2010 release date. Before I end this note, according to one of our readers HMV has begun to place posters inside the local store (in the U.K.) announcing a Inception Steelbook and poster reads as followed, “INCEPTION BLU RAY (STEELBOOK HMV EXCLUSIVE, TBC)”. There are no listings available online at the moment so we’ll just have to wait. Check below for direct links to each listing and artwork.

It’s been brought to my attention (via our forums) that Japan will be seeing a release of the Iron Man 2 blu-ray steelbook. The cover is very close to looking like the original Iron Man Blu-ray Steelbook Future Shop Canadian Version except in black. I like the look, very classy.
