A Trip to the Moon Blu-ray Steelbook

I recently watched Hugo in theatre so I was instantly drawn to the thread in our official forums on the announcement of A Trip to the Moon Blu-ray Steelbook for the United States by Flicker Alley. This Georges Méliès film will be released as a limited edition Steelbook consisting of one BD and one DVD, and retail for $29.96 USD.  It is currently scheduled to be released on March 27,2012 and can be purchased via this link: http://www.flickeralley.com/fat_trip_01.html
This is an American exclusive but the retailer’s site appears to ship internationally as well, so good news for international collectors.

The Steelbook has been confirmed to be G2 sized and just updated above is the final cover art. We have also just received word that this edition will be limited to 4000.

I am very happy for this release even though I cannot say I am one who particularly appreciates classic cinema (beyond 1950s). Here’s hoping for more unique classic cinema releases such as this in the future as they make for a unique piece in any film / Steelbook enthusiast’s collection.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition

The Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Steelbook will come with the Canadian and American release of the game’s Special Edition for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 20, 2012. Currently it is assumed that the PS3 version will be G2 sized with the 360 version being G1 which has been the case for previous Capcom Special Edition releases with Steelbooks (i.e. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Dead Rising). The Special Edition will retail for $69.99 and should be available at most major retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.) and comes with the Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City game, SteelBook case with exclusive art, a stylized foil sleeve, Umbrella Security Service patch, Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch and eight bonus weapons.

It’s a USA Blu-ray SteelBook Release! Atlas Shrugged Part 1 is getting a Blu-ray SteelBook release here in the USA as a limited edition. Atlas Shrugged was first a widely acclaimed book from 1957 which released in select theaters this year of April. After watching the trailer, (below) you’ll get a a real feel of why the SteelBook says “Rearden Steel” on it.

Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy (Blu-Ray Steelbook) (Best Buy Exclusive)-G1-Embossed [USA]

Not pictured is the regulator which installs under the hygrometer as I was filling it with the liquid prior to installation. The hinges are actually 24k gold covered. (something I didn’t even realize originally.) The Humidor has a 10k clear coat paint finish that is simply stunning. The inside is untreated Spanish cedar, which is capable of holding and properly storing 100 cigars.

The Scarface steelbook is the same one which can be bought separately at stores nation-wide. (USA) And the cigars that you see in the video down below do not come with the edition.

There’s some speculation that the listing that appeared on Best Buy’s website for Thor is an actual Steelbook. The pictures are too small to see any sort of spine for us to tell and we also haven’t received a confirmation from Scanavo about this release at the moment. For now we’ll put it as a Steelbook (crossing fingers) until further notice. Best Buy is listing (see here) the release for September 13th with a price of $29.99 USD.
