Announced from Amazon.de is the release of Kill Bill 1+2 in a complete steelbook. The price is currently €25.99 or $33.65 as of posting. It is set to be released on April 5th, 2012. There is no artwork as of yet but we will post as the info comes in.

Super 8 blu ray steelbook announced for Italy

Another country is releasing “Super8″, this time it’s Italy as a triple play. It includes the blu-ray disc, DVD, and digital copy. Also, It’s listed as a pre-order on DVD-store.it with no pricing or release date as of yet. We’ll post more info as it comes along and follow the forum for other info.

SteelBook List Updated

For those who may not know, we’ve updated the world-wide steelbook list like a couple weeks ago so its pretty close to fully up to date. I know from time to time it can get outdated with so many steelbook releases, but we now have someone who is working to maintain just that. We hope it provides as a good resource for all the steelbook collector’s world wide. For those who collect Digibooks, we have a list over at blu-raydigibooks.com as well.

Another steelbook in the Netherlands has been announced and this time it’s for the thriller Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish.

Currently scheduled for an August 18, 2011 drop this steelbook will be a retailer exclusive to Media Markt in the Netherlands. The current listed price for in store purchases is 17,99 euro (about $26 USD).

Please note that the distributor of this A Film Distribution BV also issued Kick Ass in steelbook last year and that release reportedly worked in many (if not all) Region A players.

It is unclear at this time if other steelbook editions for this title will be released in other countries.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader sails into a steelbook edition

Japan will be getting a Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader Blu-ray Steelbook in July. The steelbook is limited to 5,000 copies in Japan, but it is not a retailer exclusive.

Initial pack shots appear to confirm that this is another stellar release, with artwork on the inside of the steelbook and a relatively logo free front.

Currently, it is available to preorder from both amazon.co.jp (¥3,625) and hmv.co.jp (¥3,942), for approximately $46 – $48 USD before shipping. There is no listing at the moment on Yes Asia.

The first ever Narnia steelbook worldwide will brave the rough seas of international shipping to arrive into steelbook collections worldwide with a release date of July 8, 2011.

The Invictus French Blu-ray Steelbook has been confirmed to be region free. Along with this title is the French version of Minority Report and the German edition of Zombie Land.

Total Recall Blu-ray SteelBook?

Interestingly enough, the German amazon.de site is showing a metalpak of Total Recall which is to be limited to 5,000 copies supposedly. Reports from German blu-ray site blu-raydisc.de are stating it to be a SteelBook version. Amazon.de has been known kind of lately to throw all sorts titles on their SteelBook listings lately. So the title could end up reflecting that of Steelbook closer to release date. Keep your eyes peeled.

Iron Man 2 Blu-ray SteelBook All But Confirmed

Not even out in theaters yet and the product buyer for FutureShop has confirmed the future release of Iron Man 2 Blu-ray steelbook. This really isn’t a huge surprise for collectors in the blu-ray steelbook community as we figured this bad boy would get its steelbook treatment. No matter how much hype this title brings, it will only bolster the hype of the Iron Man Blu-ray steelbook as expectedly Iron Man 2 will get multiple country releases in SteelBook form.

This will be Steelbook for sure. Barring a nuclear explosion or natural disaster that wipes out 20% or more of the world’s population. -Brana (FutureShop)
